    “National Indian Veterans Association”
  2. January 13, 1993 “Supplementary Letters Patent” was issued for a change of name of Federal Corporation 111911-7 to
    “National Aboriginal Veterans Association”

then expanding too encompass Métis and Inuit Veterans
  3. On October 28, 2010 “Letters Patent” was granted by the Minister of Industry incorporating a new Federal Corporation 756581-0 with the name of
“Canadian Aboriginal Veterans and Serving Members Association”

Achieving a distinct“Canadian”identity and the inclusion of Canadian Forces, Aboriginal serving members

Federal Corporation 111911-7 name – “National Aboriginal Veterans Association” with six months advance notice was Officially Dissolved on June 22, 2011

Our old Association’s name “National Aboriginal Veterans Association” often referred to as NAVA is now in respectful retirement having served from January 13, 1993 to June 22, 2011.
The members voted for a “Fresh Start” too supersede and replace the old structure of Chapters and scattered membership with a new organization that features the combination of an Incorporated National Associations creating an Alliance of Incorporated Associations forming the Canadian Corps of Indigenous Veterans.

Dear Visitors

I have included this background information, knowing the two year period of confusion that was caused when we changed our name in January 1993 from National Indian Veterans Association to National Aboriginal Veterans Association, we didn’t have the Internet to help with the change-over in those days.
The progression of “Names” is is clearly seen and this should clarify who we are and demonstrate our strong desire to stay modern and provide the best National and Provincial representation and services for our Aboriginal Veterans and Serving Members. Note also that the Corporate numbers are Permanent

Thank you for your time and interest

The Old Corporate Name (NAVA) National Aboriginal Veterans Association*
Please Note as of June 22, 2011
There should be no one, absolutely no person or group of persons using or claiming to be the “National Aboriginal Veteran Association” or the Acronym “NAVA” Executives or Provincial Representatives for the purpose of representing Aboriginal Veterans”or obtaining Goods and/or Services as all those positions have been dissolved along with the name of “National Aboriginal Veterans Association and the Acronym NAVA.
We have been informed from time to time of impersonations and deceptions during the name confusion “change-over” period and have countered these acts with documentation and apologies to those deceived, because the Bad Apples reflect on all Aboriginals.
We have taken Legal steps to protect Federal Corporation 111911-7 previous name from further abuse, allowing the Accomplishments under that name to rest in peace. Those measures are now being put in place to prevent further abuse.

Note:
The Internet is full of Malicious and Scam/Trick web sites, Do not be mislead by web sites using the name “National Aboriginal Veterans Association”, its a Scam a trick operation designed to appear genuine and legitimate.
The Acronym NAVA rightly belongs to the “Native American Veteran Association” in the US
Please inform the National Executive of any future Misrepresentations or Pretenses of Authority occurring in the future, needless to say Aboriginal people do not need the embarrassments these action create.
